Welcome to Kaleidoscope School of Learning !
Kaleidoscope School of Learning has opened its doors this year for the first time and we’re extremely excited!
We are a small private Cottage School in the Assagay area, giving students the one-on-one individualized attention that is lacking in larger mainstream schools.
I’m Bianca-Lee Barnes, and I’m the founder of KSoL. I’m a qualified teacher, who specializes in Foundation Phase. I’ve been teaching for the past several years overseas within multiple schools, all with different curriculums, vision and missions, and of course the different cultures that always play a major part. Being in these schools, I grew frustrated with how traditional schooling is no longer meeting the needs of our children, and no longer the focus of education, and thus having opened KSoL.
I’ve opened KSoL to give children that much needed attention that they require in school. To ensure no child falls behind or becomes ‘just another face’ in the larger classrooms. We believe education is far more than just a curriculum or a textbook. At KSoL, we educate the WHOLE child, not just the mind, using the holistic approach. We firmly believe this allows each student to reach their full potential. Our logo is created on 5 circles, each representing the elements of the ‘whole’ child – physical, social/emotional, sensory, cognitive and communication.
We are CAPS compliant – but it’s used as a broad guideline ONLY. This allows the freedom of deciding the best educational methods depending on the child and how he/she learns.
KSoL is currently only open to students in Grades 1, 2 and 3, but we intend to expand in the coming years.
We look forward to welcoming you to the KSoL family.
